The hosts were kind and helpful, and the accommodation was spacious and had everything we needed. It's high up in the village, so getting there means a steep climb up stairs for about 10 minutes from the port and center. That does help you avoid the day trippers and gives you a bit of a workout. There's a supermarket nearby, too, so you don't always need to head down to the village for groceries. The problem was the two large dogs at the neighboring house. They barked whenever anyone passed or approached, which happened constantly because the house is by a crossroads. They were on a balcony, which seemed like it might be animal cruelty. The noise went on day and night and kept waking us, so we couldn't get a good night's sleep, and afternoon naps were short too. This was very disturbing. I feel bad mentioning it because the hosts were so helpful, and the dogs aren't their responsibility, but the house is right next door and the barking really affected our stay.
