Piteoussa Guest House

Piteoussa made our first Hydra trip a restful one. It’s tucked away in a quiet spot, yet less than a five-minute walk from the port. The place is nicely kept, and our room was just the right size and cleaned daily. We slept comfortably, and the price was great compared with other options. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We had room 2 on the ground floor because it was the only fairly cheap room left when we booked. It wasn’t as lovely as some of the pictures online, which was a little disappointing, but it worked for us. Clean, functional, and good value for Hydra. There was some morning street noise, though it didn’t bother us. The harbour is an easy, fairly flat walk away, and it took us under 10 minutes to roll our suitcase across the cobbled streets. There are two very good Greek restaurants nearby, Giasemi and Xeri Elia Douskos. We’d stay here again if we returned to Hydra.

We came hoping for a quiet, relaxing stay, but barely slept because of the noise. There’s a road right below the windows, and people coming back from clubs, horses, and service vehicles were passing all night, even at 5am. The sound carries so strongly it feels like everything is happening inside the room. The rooms are clean and the hospitality is good, but we were so disappointed, especially since we picked this hotel because of its high ratings. I don’t know what the upstairs rooms are like. Our window also had no mosquito net, and the host didn’t fix that even after we asked.

We loved this part of Hydra and the view from both top-floor windows. The room was lovely, very clean, and the bed was really comfortable. The hosts were helpful, and I’d stay at this guesthouse again. The bathroom was a bit small, but it did the job, and everything else more than made up for it.
