We had a junior suite, and paying extra for it was worth it. There was more room for the family and the setting was really nice. Peter in the sunset lounge was such a welcoming host, and the staff were amazing. They work incredibly hard. The food was good, though we chose to eat out because we love trying food. My one small complaint is the sunbeds: you have to get there very early to secure one. Apart from that, a top-notch holiday at lovely Dodeca.

The planes land every five minutes and it gets very loud. The beach is rocky, though it’s only about 20 meters from the hotel. The setting is nice and it’s a good place for families, but the food was terrible and the same every day. All in all, the holiday was okay.

There was broken glass in the baby pool, and staff sent someone with a plastic cup to try to scoop it out. I was disgusted. The staff didn’t help us with any of our concerns. We arrived at 2 in the morning on Wednesday and were put in a one-bedroom room for my family of five. I was horrified and had to be moved. Then I woke up covered in bites, and I have footage of bedbugs crawling around the bed. I reported it, but staff said they couldn’t do anything. At the restaurant, pork was the only meat, and the food was cold and made me feel sick. I’d avoid this hotel at all costs.

The staff were amazing, and the hotel is clean, good for kids, and has decent rooms that were cleaned daily. The pools and slides were fun, although only two of the three slides worked. The beach is right there and shops are a few minutes away, but food choices were very repetitive. Dinner fruit was limited to tasteless watermelon or dry orange. I’m pretty sure the orange and pineapple juices were diluted, and the alcohol was watered down so much it was barely there. The TV didn’t work. A room flooded in bad weather, and the miserable caretaker just shrugged it off. I’d come back, but never again at nearly £15,000 for 22 people. I don’t think the stay was worth even a quarter of that. I’d look around first, and only go if you’re happy to eat out every day.

Rhodes is beautiful, and there are many good restaurants and quality hotels where you could have a wonderful holiday. This hotel, though, made for the worst vacation I’ve had in recent years. We booked an all-inclusive suite, but the food was very bad, the drinks were cheap, and the accommodation was poor. The bathroom was dirty and the shower didn’t work. I even found flies in the food. Our ticket included one à la carte dinner on an evening of our choice. The wine came from the cheapest box, and the three dishes we chose smelled very bad. If you value your hard-earned money, go somewhere else. This isn’t a five-star hotel, despite how it appears online.
