Akanthos Hotel

The only decent part was the location, about a 7-10 minute walk from the beach. The room had cracks in the walls and mold in some corners, and the bathroom was small. Hot water, and sometimes water in general, wasn’t always available. When we asked, we were told it happens now and then and to wait half an hour next time. The building was old and creaky, and the wooden staircase had started falling apart. There was supposedly daily cleaning, but it just meant changing the sheets and towels. After we dropped something and looked under the bed, we saw a floor that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. I don’t recommend staying here.

I went to Athos, and this was the cheapest hotel in ierissou. My diamonitirion issue meant I needed to stay a couple more days, and they were accommodating. They even drove me to the port.

Right in the centre of Ierissos and very near the beach, the hotel was also excellent value. Our room was clean and a good size. The staff were extremely friendly and willing to help whenever needed. Highly recommended!

The price is low, but the room still wasn’t good enough for even a short stay. There’s no bathroom ventilation, so we had to open the room door and windows to clear the humidity. When we went out with the windows open, we sometimes came back to find them shut because the owner had turned on the grill right below them. It could have been worse if they’d left the windows open, though.
