Elia Cave Suites

This stay turned into a frustrating mess and took up a lot of our precious time. We chose the hotel because we planned to take a bus to Fira and wanted to stay near the bus station, but the replacement hotel they gave us was in Imerovigli, with lots of stairs to manage with all our luggage. We had to change our plans again and again, and better information would have helped us plan properly. The hotel was expensive, but the experience was awful. Even a one star hotel would have been much better. The problems started before we even got into a room. The address on Agoda was wrong, so we went to the wrong place. We contacted the hotel and were told to wait at another location. Carrying all our big bags there was exhausting, and when we arrived, no one was there. We then waited for a long time in the strong sun because we wanted to leave the luggage in our room. The owner kept saying someone was coming and would only be a few more minutes. We waited for 1HOUR. When we finally reached the room, it was occupied by other guests. They told us to move to a different hotel, but didn't tell us that it was in Imerovigli rather than Fira. The owner or the sister hotel Anemos caused all this frustration and ruined our vacation. Stay away from them. After check out, the owner had agreed to drive us to Oia. We waited in our room, but once again no one came. When I contacted the owner, he said there would be a cost at the last minute. We could have left earlier, caught the bus, and reached Oia sooner.

The junior suite is small, but the view is the best, and watching the sunset from the balcony or your own hot tub is lovely. We stayed in April, so the evenings were a bit cold, but the hot tub was heated. The host met us at the cab and showed us to the suite. She also left a lovely bottle of Greek white wine. We stayed 3 nights and highly recommend it. There aren't many reviews, but IMO the location, price, and area are the best. There are lots of shops and small restaurants nearby, and much more is open in summer.

The honeymoon suite was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. Its position between Fira and Oia was ideal, and the caldera and sunset views were the best. Highly recommended!

Jenny upgraded us from a Junior Suite to a Honeymoon suite, which was a lovely surprise. She was always available when we needed anything. The stay at Elia Cave suites was beautiful, with the facilities shown on the website and a private hot pool overlooking the caldera. It went beyond what we expected, and we'd definitely love to book there again.
