The clean room had a marvellous view, and the host was very kind. It’s well placed for getting to Chora and the beaches. I’d highly recommend it.

Irene and her family made us feel comfortable and helped us enjoy our stay. The place is in a great spot, close to everything, and the owners really go out of their way for guests. She even served us local olive oil made by her father, from the olive trees in his yard. The olives and oil were amazing, and that thoughtful extra was more than we expected. Highly recommend them, and do try the oil!

The hotel has a traditional feel and is very close to the town centre. Our room was clean, and the married couple running the place were polite, genuinely nice, and very helpful. I’d gladly recommend staying here.

We came back to Blue Horizon three times during our five-week island-hopping trip, and it was great value for money. The owners, Irene and Nikos, are wonderful and take care of all kinds of needs. They provide free transport for guests and add personal touches too. Once they found out we liked wine, there was a nice bottle waiting in our fridge. Most rooms have a fantastic sea view and a huge private sitting area outside. The property is spotless, with daily service, and there are supermarkets and Ios city within walking distance. Kolitsani Beach is just steps away and uncrowded, with crystal-clear water. You can also walk downhill to Mylopotas Beach, which the internet calls the island’s most beautiful beach. It takes around 20 minutes, and the bus back costs €1.60, runs every 15 minutes in the afternoon and evening, and stops right in front of the Aegan Supermarket. That supermarket seemed to be the cheapest on the island, handy for picking up breakfast supplies. There are Hollywood swings in some of the best spots on the property for a sundowner. We loved the place and the owners’ thoughtful service.
