I had one of my best stays here. Villa Mata is right by the beach and close to the port, with food and restaurants nearby; Chora is just up the hill. My room was cozy, modern, beautiful, and always clean. The host was the friendliest I’ve had, and gave me useful island tips and recommendations. A great-value place to stay in ios.

After arriving from the UK in July, we stayed here and really liked the location. There are plenty of restaurants and bars around the port for the evening. The rooms were charming and clean, and the owner was keen to make us happy. When we wanted to stay in, there were BBQ facilities in the lovely garden.

The owner gave us lots of help planning what to do on the island, including advice on where to go, when to go, and how to stay safe. We had clean, spacious rooms with a great view of both Chora and the Port, right beside the beach. The prices are a steal, and I’d recommend Villa Mata for a holiday with friends.

Lambros, the owner, was incredibly kind and helped with anything we needed. The quiet Villa Mata has a lovely, lush green garden, and it’s close to the beach. Our room was spacious and clean, with a balcony overlooking the town and beach. A wonderful little hotel, we loved our stay and would gladly recommend it.

Villa Mata felt like home for my girlfriend and me. We had a great time there on our first visit to Ios. We’d stayed in at least five hotels on this holiday, in Spain and Greece, so we had other places to compare it with. Villa Mata stood out for its value, location just a minute from the beach, staff, and COVID procedures. Lambros is a great, friendly host, and being in his family-run business made us feel we should seek out places like this rather than large hotels that harm the environment and take from local people. If you’re visiting IOS or a nearby island, don’t hesitate, VILLA MATA IS THE PLACE!!!
