The pool is a nice feature, but the shower is so small that water ends up all over the floor. They clean the rooms daily except on Sundays. Breakfast was the same each day and could use more variety. Also, watch the checkout time, since you have to leave before the hotel day is over. The morning hot water problems cost it a star. That wasn't very nice.

The worst part was how we were treated when we checked out. The woman we'd spoken to on arrival saw us coming, went inside, shut the door, and walked away. The first-day conversation had already been strange and unfriendly, and it felt like they knew we were unhappy. We don't expect much from accommodation. Cleanliness, a decent bed and pillows, and the room we booked are enough for us. We booked hotel Matina through a Dutch travel agency, which listed several room types. Because of my disability, we chose a twin room so I could have my own bed and my partner wouldn't accidentally hurt me in a small bed. A twin room means two beds to us, as it does everywhere we've stayed. But on arrival they put us in a small double bed, maybe 160 cm wide or even less. We pointed out that this wasn't what we'd booked, and the hotel's own confirmation clearly said “twin room.” The woman said that twin didn't mean two separate beds and this was the only room available. She also said we should have emailed if we wanted a special room, like one with a pool view. That made no sense to me, since the booking site offered a twin room with separate beds and a double room with one bed for two people. She said it wasn't their fault, told us to contact the tourist office if we were unhappy, and said they could move us to another hotel. I still don't know which tourist office she meant. In the end, they brought in an extra children's bed. My partner, who weighs over 80 kilos, had to sleep on that clearly unsuitable, awful bed for nine nights. The double bed was very hard and uncomfortable, waking me around ten times a night with pain. Most of the pillows were rock hard too. Everything seemed very old and in need of replacement. Even the broken toilet seat felt gross and unhygienic, with bacteria getting caught in it. They took no responsibility for what seemed to be their mistake, and didn't communicate well with the travel agency. If they don't want to specify room types on those websites, they shouldn't list them. When I book a particular room, I expect to get it. Being given something completely different is bizarre, and the extra money we paid for a decent hotel didn't feel worthwhile.

Our complaints have led to legal disputes, even though our expectations were pretty low. The room looked nothing like the pictures, and the other one-star reviews are completely right. Stay away, and be warned.

The pool is spotless, which is unusual among the hotels and pensions in Ireon, and everything indoors and out is very clean. You can feel the care as soon as you walk into this lovely family hotel. The team and hostess are friendly, and to me it's one of the best places in Ireon. Breakfast comes with fresh bread and cake baked by the hostess, plus homemade apricot and strawberry jams, Greek honey, Nutella, homemade Greek yogurt, cucumbers, tomatoes, and olives. Rooms have a refrigerator and air conditioner you can use. The hotel is about 200 meters from the beach, town center, and lots of restaurants. I'd recommend it with all my heart ❤️

It's a basic old hotel in Samos, but the owners were friendly and looked after us well. Our room was good, though it had two single beds where we'd expected a double. The breakfast tasted pretty good, but there wasn't much variety. The nightly price felt fair.
