The Wild By Interni

The hotel’s quiet location is beautiful, with peaceful access to the sea, a main pool with a stunning view, and a small but nice outdoor gym. Those were the highlights of our stay at The Wild Hotel by Interni. The rest was disappointing. Service didn’t feel attentive or friendly, and breakfast was underwhelming: most menu items cost extra. I ordered the €19 açai bowl, which was carelessly put together and bland. We were in the Honeymoon Suite, but its walls had odd stains and the private “pool” was dirty. There wasn’t a mosquito plug in the room either, so we had to ask for one. The service, breakfast, and room quality didn’t meet expectations.

Our family weekend was fabulous. We loved the rustic setting, the excellent beach, the food, and the hospitality. The sea-front room had a small pool, felt relaxing, and gave us a view of the sunrise. A bath in the room would have made it even better. We’ll come again 🤗

The hotel is in a quiet area on the east side of the island, around a 20-minute drive from Mykonos old town. The roads are narrow and not in the best condition, so if you rent a car, a small 4x4 is a good idea. Uber and taxis aren’t cheap in Mykonos. The location itself is stunning, tucked into a private bay with beautiful sunrises. If you’re after sunsets, you need to stay on the other side of the island. The beach is small, too small for a hotel this size, but the water is lovely. The staff were very friendly when we arrived. We travelled with two friends and booked directly for four nights, hoping to stay in a two-bedroom suite with a private pool. My friend was offered the Apomero two-bedroom suite with sea view and private pool for four nights. We paid, then were told, “oops this is for 3 nights, not for 4,” and asked to pay an additional amount X for the fourth night, even though the reservation had already been confirmed. They offered us the Unique two-bedroom suite with sea view instead, at no extra charge. Our flights were already booked and we’d paid 5K, so we went ahead, though we were disappointed not to get the room we’d booked. At the end, they still charged us an extra 1850 euro for the fourth night. Overall, guest relations left us with a bad experience, and we never even stayed in the room we paid for. Our room 203 had some real problems. The rooms are spacious, but we had an ongoing ant problem. Turn-down service left chocolates on the bed, which was kind, but ants crawled onto it and made it hard to start the night. We told the cleaning staff; after that they left the chocolates by the bathroom sink, but the ants kept coming, including near our toothbrushes. The rooms are supposed to be soundproof, but we could hear every conversation next door and even guess what show they had on when the TV was playing. The terrace view was lovely, and the black bathtub looked idyllic, but there was no privacy because the neighbours could look right at us while we used it. If we ate or drank anything from the minibar, it wasn’t restocked, so no more nuts after we finished them. The blinds in one bedroom wouldn’t close, and without a sleep mask we woke at 6.30 from the strong sun. The terrace window wouldn’t close, so the neighbours could have come in. They say bed linen is changed daily unless you leave a card on it, but that wasn’t true; they just made the bed. They shouldn’t say that. There were good things about the room too: it was large, the showers were nice, and the toilet was in a separate room. Storage was very limited for anyone staying longer than a few days. The hotel has two restaurants, both serving delicious meals, probably the best in the area. Don’t waste time or money at Spilia next door, it’s horrific. The fitness area is cute but far too small, and it’s outdoors with no air conditioning. Everyone wants to go morning or evening, but it feels full once two people are there. There are hotels with better price and quality on the island.

The food was fantastic at any time of day, and the private beach was a lovely bonus. It’s a quieter part of the island, which made it well worth staying for some rest and relaxation. The place and rooms are beautiful. My wife wants to come back with our little one, as it also seemed very accommodating for guests with small babies.
