Lindos Royal Resort - All Inclusive

We did enjoy our stay overall, despite the concerns we'd read beforehand. The staff were excellent, especially Edward from the restaurant, and the food was nice and varied. The hotel was clean, and the kids loved the slides. Some lifeguards did a very good job keeping people safe. Our family room was clean but very tired, with cracked tiles around the property, though they weren't sharp. It lets the hotel down, and modernizing the rooms would make a big difference. The air conditioning wasn't switched on until 1 June and wasn't very effective. The room is mainly a place to sleep, and we managed, but those were the main problems. I'd call it a three-star hotel rather than the four stars Jet2 lists.

The health spa was the highlight for me. The treatments were very good, and the staff there were really nice. The buffet was good too, and I don't think you'll be disappointed. Linda’s Royal is a decent hotel, though it could use a little upkeep. It's a short distance from Lindos town, with local buses and taxis available, and there isn't much to do outside the hotel apart from heading to Lindos. The evening entertainment was okay, better than most, I'd say. We also took a local boat trip with captain Visalis, which was really good, and stopped in Hiraki for lunch, where there are lots of places to eat.

The setting and views made a wonderful backdrop for our week at Lindos Royal, and there was a lot we enjoyed. Food was amazing, full marks to the chef and kitchen team. The themed restaurant was especially good, so I'd recommend booking it. Tommy deserves a special mention too: he was incredibly helpful, gave us 100% customer care, and made us feel valued. It seemed there was nothing he couldn't fix. The cleaning staff worked hard, were consistently friendly, and always greeted us warmly. The main restaurant staff could be more welcoming when guests arrive. A smile, eye contact, and a friendly greeting would make a real difference. Also, watch out for the tiles by the pool bar, they can get very slippery when wet and need attention. Although the week was highly enjoyable, I'm not sure the service is consistently at a five-star level yet. Some improvements inside the hotel and in service are needed. The entertainment was very good, and staff in general were excellent, friendly and fun. The food was okay. Overflowing bins attracted wasps, though, and the hotel needs a major facelift: there are cracks all over, including in the floor tiles, pool tiles, and balconies. It's definitely not close enough to walk to Lindos, a taxi costs 14 euros. I gave it three stars because I don't think it's a five-star hotel.
