GM Luxury Suites Kalavryta

The place looked good, but it turned out to be the worst and most disappointing stay I've had. It seemed to be managed remotely through codes and WhatsApp, with nobody on or near the site. We had several problems and got no help at all: a leaking shower, no sheets, and an insane number of insects and spiders in the rooms. They offered to let us LEAVE AT 21:00!!

We left Kalavrita earlier than planned, disappointed and feeling deceived. I was traveling with my wife and our 4-year-old daughter for three days, and we'd booked the Philippos Suite. It cost over 300 Euros per night, yet the room didn't have proper blind curtains or shutters to let us sleep well, and the hotel Wi-fi access details were invalid. We couldn't connect. Sunlight woke us at 06:30, and the lack of Wi-fi was unacceptable. Christina kindly let us leave early without a penalty after we told the property manager we couldn't tolerate the conditions. We had found it hard to arrange another place at the last minute. The actual host, though, treated the room's shortcomings as unimportant and acted as if everything was fine. The presentation was unprofessional and the photos of the Philippos Suite were deceptive. The apartment has two levels, but the listing didn't show the small internal staircase leading to the main bedroom. The room type should have been called a maisonette, such as Philippos Suite Maisonette, so guests could understand what they were booking. Instead, the explanation was tucked into small print on the final step of a third-party booking site. The bathroom was tiny, the smallest I've seen in a hotel. There was nowhere to put basic toiletries, and at 92 kg and 1,81m, I struggled to use the toilet and shower. There wasn't room to get dressed after showering either. Even though the website had over 15 photos of the room, none showed the bathroom. After I raised the problem with the manager, someone added a photo, but it had the same deceptive approach: the photographer removed the shower glass, hiding the bathroom's true size. I'm sharing a picture so future guests can see it, and I hope the property will soon provide accurate photos. The small TV in the upstairs bedroom was also left out of the website pictures. It's surprising that in 2024, in a tourist destination like Kalavrita, professionals would use misleading photos that give guests the wrong expectations. The whole experience left us disappointed.

The room looked fine and had been recently renovated, but cleanliness and plumbing were an issue. Water flooded the shower. For this price, I expected better and didn't expect to run into problems like that.

We had a really nice stay and would highly recommend it. We'll be back in winter!
