Penelope Village Mykonos by Mr and Mrs White

The area is quiet and a little barren, so this works better as a place to relax than as a base for trips into town. There's a small town nearby, about a 30-minute walk away, but taxis are quite pricey at around $40. A beach is very close, with laid-back bars that serve food. Rooms at Penelope Suites vary in style, but it's a pleasant place overall. Demitris was extremely helpful with our questions and gave great customer service. The other staff were friendly too, and the pool was lovely. Breakfast was pretty good, with a decent range. You can ask for pool towels at the lobby, and the room comes with shower towels, body wash, shampoo, body lotion, and soap bars. It was a cozy, pleasant stay.

The location is just okay, though it's close to the beach, and the rooms were generally clean. In person, the property and rooms looked much more dated than the online photos suggested, and some facilities seemed worn compared with the polished pictures on booking sites. The service was okay but nothing special. For the price and the expectations set by those photos, I left disappointed. It's fine if you just need somewhere to stay in Mykonos, but don't expect it to look like the pictures.

The staff made the stay feel especially welcoming. They were polite, friendly, and always ready to help, and the whole hotel was spotless. I was pleased with everything and had no complaints. I’d happily recommend it.

Mohammed at reception was a big help during our first visit to Mykonos. He sorted out cabs and helped us find our way around the island. The rest of the staff worked hard to keep us supplied with drinks, and the food was always tasty. We had an amazing time at the Penelope hotel.
