I stayed at Elysian Garden Kalyves, in a building called Erodios where each apartment is separately owned. I loved the place, it had everything I needed. From one terrace I could see the beach and sea, and from the other there was a view of the front garden and a glimpse of the Cretan mountains.

We stayed for nine nights in a superior room with a double balcony. The view from our balcony was lovely, with the sea in front and olive groves opposite, and sitting outside in the morning was a treat. The location was very handy. The apartment wasn’t huge, but the view made up for that. The bedroom AC was great, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. We met Francois later on our first day. He was friendly, explained everything and offered us a drink. Drinks, beer and wine were available in the reception fridge for 2 euros each. I mostly messaged Francois on WhatsApp and he always replied quickly. Nadia helpfully showed me how to use the washing machine. I even borrowed the clothes horse and extra pegs. Requests like towel changes were handled promptly, and beach towels were provided. Any toiletries left behind could be used by other guests. We had a great stay, and I’d recommend it.

Francois is a great host. I enjoyed chatting with him, and he really made me feel at home. The location in Kalyves is great too, with the beach and bars just a five-minute walk away. I stayed for a week and will definitely return. There’s a small gym in the basement if you fancy a workout while you’re there.

Francois and Nadia were really helpful and gave great service. The apartments were clean and well priced for being so close to the sea, with nice views and good WiFi. Nothing to complain about, and I’d stay again.
