We spent seven nights at The Hotel Avraki, which is well placed in Kamari. The beach, shops, and restaurants are about a five-minute walk away. The local bus stop is a 12-minute walk, and from there we rode into Fira to connect to other parts of the island. We visited Akrotiri, Oia, Pyrgos, and Fira. Each bus journey cost €2 per person. Our room had what we needed, including a small kitchenette and fridge. A simple breakfast was included each day: juice, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, cereal, Greek yoghurt, croissants, cake, cheese, cold meats, bread, and hot items like mini frankfurters and omelette, fried or scrambled eggs. It was a lovely 23 degrees, and the pool sunbeds were great for relaxing. Pool towels were available on request. The room was cleaned daily and towels changed. We enjoyed the food nearby too. Erotokritos bakery had tasty baguettes, sandwiches, cakes, pastries, baklava, and chocolates. Elias Grill did very good gyros and souvlaki sticks at good prices. We also had dinner at Olive Oil, Amelia restaurant, The Spring, and Kiwi, all of which were great. Thanks to Maria and Betty at Hotel Avraki for a lovely stay.

Maria, the owner, is a wonderful host, and the service makes you feel part of the family very quickly. The hotel is peaceful, a real paradise, and only five minutes on foot from the beach. Planes do land nearby, but it wasn't noisy at this location. It's a fantastic hotel and certainly worth six stars. I must book it again.

We stayed for a week and had a great time in Kamari. The staff were brilliant, always keen to help and full of useful island tips. Our room had everything we needed, and it was cleaned well every day with fresh towels and sheets. There are changing and shower facilities for late check-outs, which was handy. The beach area is a short walk away, with lots of bars and restaurants. A perfect stay.

For the price, this clean hotel is hard to beat. The host was very friendly, breakfast had a nice range of options, and there was never a rush for a sun lounger. I'd recommend it as a great budget choice in Kamari.

Such a nice atmosphere at this small family-run hotel. The service was as good as we could have hoped for, and Maria and Betty were first rate. Everyone was very helpful.
