Kanapitsa Mare Hotel

The pool is a great spot to lounge or cool off, and the breakfast was a perfectly adequate buffet with hot and cold choices, juice, fresh fruit and other items. Evenings were quiet, with limited entertainment, but we prefer getting out to explore. Bus Stop 12 is a five-minute walk, so getting around was easy. The hotel sits up a slight slope, which could be difficult if you have mobility issues, though it wasn’t a problem for us. We stayed in June 2025 and found the hotel clean and in a great location, just as we expected. Check-in was quick and efficient. Our room overlooked the sea, got full sun all morning and had great air conditioning, a balcony and a safe. The mattresses were amazingly comfortable. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, especially Katherine, who was fun, professional and always happy to help. The Kanapitsa Mare Hotel was a great stay, and I’d recommend it.

There are several beaches within a 10-minute walk, so the location suited me fine even though you have to walk a bit to reach one. Breakfast barely changed from day to day. If cutlery, plates, napkins, water or food ran out, you had to catch the woman clearing the tables and ask her to refill things. Otherwise, it could take quite a while.

I wanted to leave a review because I think the score on booking is unfair. We’ve just come back from four nights at Kanapitsa Mare and had a great experience. The staff were super nice, the breakfast was fresh and very good, and the location was great, with beaches close by. The rooms are big and very clean, though a bit old-fashioned. They’d benefit from refurbishment, but we really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel’s location is a real plus: it has rooms with sea views, is near bus 12 and is close to some beautiful beaches. The breakfast had almost the same options every day, with scrambled eggs one day and fried eggs another. What made it worse was having to ask the woman clearing tables to refill the plates, napkins or cheese whenever they ran out. Our sixth-floor room looked dated, and the bed wasn’t comfortable. The Wi-Fi signal up there was poor and often didn’t work. To use the in-room safe, we had to leave a 20€ deposit at reception to get a key. It didn’t work with a PIN, and we had to carry the key around. I don’t think this place deserves four stars, maybe not even three. After reading the hotel’s reply, I’ll add that you can gaslight me, but the Google and Booking reviews speak for themselves.
