Agrelli Hotel

For the price, I expected better. The rooms are cramped, you can hear people in the hallway and outside, and the pool area stays noisy until late. The breakfast buffet was so mediocre that our kids could only find rice cakes to eat. There are better value options elsewhere in Kos if you look carefully. The employees weren’t very nice either. The woman at reception initially said they took Amex, but the man beside her, who we guessed was an owner, clearly told her not to let us pay that way, probably because of Amex’s fee. She then didn’t use the proper portal and claimed it was out of order. Uh huh.

We’ve just come back from ten nights at Agrelli Hotel and Suites, and we’ll certainly return. It’s a fabulous, spotless hotel with great facilities. The pool is small, but the pool bar is excellent and has great food options. The main bar is excellent too. What made the stay special, though, was the Agrelli family and their team, who went out of their way to look after us. Many thanks to Marcus, David, George and everyone there.

The room was nice and clean, the staff were really nice, and everything else was good. Breakfast was basic, with boiled eggs, bread, a little fruit, cheese, meat, tea, coffee and juice. Drinks were a bit expensive, and the pool is small. The one problem during our stay was the shower: water spread across the floor every time, so we had to wipe it up repeatedly. I don’t know whether other rooms have the same issue.

The location is superb, just a stone’s throw from the beach, and you don’t need to walk down a busy main road as some earlier reviews suggested. Our room, number 101, was fine for the stay. The whole hotel was lovely and clean, and the brothers welcomed us warmly when we arrived. We knew in advance that air conditioning and the safe deposit box cost extra. The pool area is on the small side, but we had no trouble finding sunbeds, and there was no need to get up at a ridiculous hour to reserve them with towels. Breakfast was fine with plenty of choice. There’s also a larger breakfast menu for a small extra charge. We had a wonderful eleven night stay at Agrelli and will certainly be back.
