Nikos 2 Studios & Apartments

After our long trip from Australia, the pool and bar area were just right for unwinding. George, the best host and an all-round nice guy, introduced us to his lovely mum Coco and chef Philop at the bar and cafe. Michael greeted Jane, Floss and me on our late arrival and gave us a thorough, friendly introduction. He's such a beautiful soul. Nikos 2 is a short walk from the beachfront bars, restaurants, shops and water activities, if you want more to do. We had a wonderful stay and really respect this family-run business. They went above and beyond for us. Some of the mainly English guests in our larger group have holidayed with George every year for 20 years or more. We're from a tourism island just off North Queensland, Australia, and gave George a painting by a local artist. It shows a winter sunset at our home village of Horseshoe Bay, Magnetic Island. George and Michael were great hosts and nothing was too much trouble. The pool was lovely, with plenty of sunbeds and parasols, and the clean pool bar had a nicely laid-out space and a good menu of food and drinks. The apartment was spacious and very clean. It had a small kitchen area with a sink, kettle, toaster and cooking ring, plus a compact bathroom with a shower, washbasin and toilet. The bed was comfortable, and there was a wardrobe with two drawers and a side table with a mirror. We also had a nice balcony with a table and chairs.

George, Michael and their family were amazing hosts. After 22 years of visiting Kardamena, I'd heard all my Greek friends speak highly of Nikos 2. We stayed in room 1 and will definitely be back. It's in a great location and absolutely spotless, which makes sense of the brilliant TripAdvisor reviews. I usually stay at five-star Akti Palace twice a year, and I loved the good food, drinks, service and sunshine all day around the pool here. The atmosphere was lovely and laid-back. It's far enough from central Kardamena to be peaceful, but close to both the beach and town, with a big choice of restaurants and bars. We loved staying at Nikos 2, as we have on our previous visits, and couldn't wait to come back. George and Michael make everyone feel welcome in both the apartments and at the Splash pool and bar. The apartments are spotless and comfortable. The bar food is tasty and well priced, and the pool area is very clean, with comfortable sunbeds and plenty of shade. There's a lovely breeze even on the hottest days.
