Erytha Hotel & Resort Chios

We loved the view, private beach, and both pools. The location is hard to beat, and the rooms were comfortable. We ate at the restaurant a few times. The à la carte food was good and fairly priced. Breakfast was fine, and we appreciated being able to ask for soy milk and low-fat yogurt. The hotel could use some renovation to feel like a true four-star place, though the stunning setting made the minor issues easier to overlook.

The location and the view from the room were the only real positives. The hotel itself feels very old, and the room was dirty. The sheets weren’t clean enough, and the floors, bathroom, toilet walls, and the room overall all needed better cleaning. Breakfast was average. There were no slippers, and the room had no sign for housekeeping or Do Not Disturb. The bathroom hair dryer was old and awkward to use.

Staying at Erytha felt less like a vacation and more like being welcomed into a family. I’m grateful for how kind everyone was, and I can’t wait to return. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Chios. The manager stood out for being present, approachable, and attentive to making sure things ran smoothly. From reception and housekeeping to the restaurant team, the staff were helpful and cheerful. Their hospitality came through in every interaction.

We’re wrapping up an 18-day stay and our first self-guided trip around Chios. We chose Erytha Hotel for its private beach, views, and closeness to town. From our private balcony in room N304, we had a breathtaking southeast view across the turquoise Aegean toward Turkey. Sandra welcomed us, Christos was in the kitchen, and Katia and Stella kept our room spotless. Katherine kept us entertained while juggling lots of things. Everyone at reception was phenomenal, especially Panayiota, who made the stay even better than the scenery. Exferisto Sas.
