The staff are extremely friendly, though their English is very limited and they mostly speak German. The hotel and rooms feel a bit dated. It’s quite far from the harbor, but close to the small city centre.

The location worked better for walking than for getting around without a car. Karlovasi centre is a 7-minute walk, the city bus station is 5 minutes away, and the nearest beach is about 20 minutes on foot, even though the sea is quite near the hotel. Island buses are too infrequent to rely on. The price was affordable, and the staff were kind and helpful. Our room was spacious for two, very clean, and nicely styled inside. It had a sea view from the small front balcony, a handy little fridge, plenty of storage and shelves, good air-conditioning, reliable Wi-Fi, and even an elevator, which I hadn’t expected. The bathroom was less comfortable, especially the shower cable, but we got used to it.

The owners were really rude. The room was cleaned only once a week, so we had to take out our own rubbish every day, and there were few personal hygiene products. Worst of all, the air conditioner didn’t work because of an alleged technical problem. Another tenant told us the owner always makes something up to avoid using the air conditioner and save money. Avoid this place at any cost!

Right next to Historical Agios Nikolas Church ⛪, the hotel is extremely well located in Karlovasi. It has nice rooms, plenty of modern amenities, a good breakfast, and good value-added service.
