Irene Apartments

The balcony looks out over the sea, and the place is close to the beach while still being quiet. It’s also near the center of Pigadie, with parking right by the entrance. A beautiful place to stay for a good price. I’d be happy to return on a future trip.

Zoi and Georgios, Irini’s parents, made us feel welcome straight away with a friendly chat and watermelon in their small, charming garden. We stayed eight nights. The flat was clean, newly painted, and of a very good standard, with a large balcony and sea view. The air conditioner worked well, and the area was very quiet. After a day out, it was lovely to sit on the terrace, look at the stars, and listen to the waves. We also liked being a little outside the center, about a 20-minute walk away, since the center can be touristy and crowded. Zoe has a huge heart. On our last day we nearly missed our ship to Athens, but Zoi made calls and drove us to the dock, and it all worked out. If you want an affordable, welcoming place with simple but perfectly sufficient, clean facilities and a great view, this is it.

I couldn’t work comfortably because there was no Wi-Fi in room 5, and dealing with Irene wasn’t a good experience. There was also no hot water from the first day, with a different explanation each time. I think the price should have been reduced for those inconveniences, and I suspect the cold showers made me ill. When I said I was moving elsewhere, Irene agreed to refund the remaining stay, including the extra charge for half a day. She never apologized. Akti studios charged me half as much, offered a free half-day stay, and treated me completely differently. It’s much more modern, right on the beach, and has a nice cafe.

That balcony view is breathtaking, and the studio has all the comforts of home. Zoe is a great hostess, funny and able to speak English, and always around to help however she can. Guests can use the outdoor barbeque grills whenever they like. The capitol is within walking distance, so it’s easy to have both peace and comfort. Love it!
