We booked five rooms for five nights for our group of 12, three for two people and two for three. The rooms were all the same size, and in the triples the extra bed was so small it wasn’t suitable for an adult. The pool was listed as open from 10-13:30 and 17-19:30, but we only saw it open on one day. The staff weren’t very friendly when we asked to add a bed to a triple room, even though Booking had let us choose that. They said Booking wouldn’t allow it, and wouldn’t let us shift a small wooden table to make space. Room upkeep was poor. The bathroom light was out for a day and a half, the toilet flushed only once before we had to use bottled water for the rest of the day, and the flush problem lasted throughout the stay. The AC shut itself off after a few minutes. Sheets and towels had stains, even though they were supposedly changed once during the whole visit. In one room, the curtains didn’t work. After staff cleaned one room, €100 disappeared from a wallet left inside the locked room. The balcony lights were switched off at different times during the night, once at midnight and another night at 2. Two people in our group who were staying at another hotel came by for five minutes. Staff were upset and lowered the balcony blinds in all our rooms so they could watch when we left, which felt invasive. They also wouldn’t let anyone else enter the hotel grounds, even briefly. Foreign cars couldn’t park out front, but no one asked for our license plates to track who was staying there. The hotel’s Booking account and contact number had apparently been hacked a few months earlier, and scammers targeted us. We spent 40 minutes talking to Booking to figure out what was happening. Booking contacted the hotel, but they gave no explanation or response for days, until we went back to Booking for help. They didn’t mention the issue when we arrived. Be very careful before choosing this place.

Booking had allowed us to select one, but the hotel said it wasn’t possible through Booking. They wouldn’t let us move a small wooden table to fit the bed either. After staff cleaned a room, €100 went missing from a wallet left inside the locked room, which left us with a bad feeling. There were other problems too. Curtains in one room didn’t work, and balcony lights were shut off at random, sometimes at midnight and sometimes around 2 AM. The hotel wouldn’t let outside visitors in, even for a few minutes. Two friends from another hotel came to see us briefly, and staff got upset. Then the balcony blinds were removed from our rooms, apparently so they could watch us come and go. That felt intrusive. Foreign cars couldn’t park out front, but there was no system for checking which cars belonged to guests. We were also targeted by scammers after the hotel’s Booking.com account had apparently been hacked a few months earlier. We spent 40 minutes on calls with Booking to sort things out. Even after Booking contacted the hotel, we got no response until we followed up again. When we arrived, no one mentioned it, explained, or apologized. Instead of a relaxing holiday, we got unclean rooms, technical problems, and poor hospitality. I wouldn’t recommend booking here.

The staff treated us terribly. For what you pay, the rooms and the rest of the place are awful. It’s not worth the money, and I’d strongly suggest staying away.

We spent a few days here in August 2021. The pool was a highlight, even though it was oddly fenced in, and Afitos is a charming town about a 15-minute walk away. The sea is a long way off, so you really need your own car or a taxi. Our room was spacious, but the kitchenette and toilet smelled unpleasant. When we were leaving, I asked if we could leave our luggage and wait by the pool for our transfer. The owner firmly said no. That was okay, but I definitely wouldn’t come back.
