Balaris Apartments

We enjoyed the stay and had no major complaints, though a few things could have been better. It’s a convenient place in Kassiopi, close to the center, shops, and restaurants, and the prices were fair. I’d recommend it if you’re not expecting too much. We thought we’d booked Ariti Complex, but our apartment was in Balaris, the building behind it. That felt a little misleading, although the listing showed photos of both buildings, so we don’t really object. Aritis faces the pool and a quieter street; Balaris faces the main road, with cars and sometimes trucks going by. You can hear the traffic, despite the decent insulation. I’m usually sensitive to it, but didn’t mind much. We spent most of our time out, and the traffic eased off by the time we went to bed. Check-in and checkout were smooth, but we never saw the owners in person. Cleanliness was decent, although the apartment felt a little damp. Towels and sheets were changed every 3-4 days. Wi-Fi worked well everywhere. Our ground-floor apartment had a drying rack on the balcony, while our friends on the first floor didn’t have one. Only one toilet roll was provided, with no soap, toiletries, or washing-up liquid, so remember to buy those. The kitchen and bathroom were otherwise well equipped, but we only made breakfast. Air conditioning was included and located in the kitchen only. That was enough for us, as nights weren’t too warm in early July. It was nice having the pool, sunbeds, and umbrellas, especially for the kids after a beach day. But the pool felt too small to me. It’s fine if you have it to yourself, but with 3-4 other people it’s hard to move, let alone swim.
