Bella Mare

We spent ten days in a junior suite and couldn’t find anything to fault. Breakfast was a real highlight, especially Caroline’s scrambled eggs, the best I’ve ever had. The staff were wonderful, and there’s a lovely route into Kassiopi through the trees and along the beach. The hotel and its surroundings are beautiful.

Breakfast was wonderful, with local produce and one of the best omelettes I’ve had, cooked by Caroline, a former private chef. Gayle, Gaynor and Jo gave brilliant service. Most of the staff are Greek, while the Hotel Manager, Concierge and front desk team are British. This was my first time at a Simpson Travel property, and it went beyond what I expected. The peaceful setting looks out over Avlaki Bay, on the quieter northeastern side of Corfu. I’d happily return and recommend it.

Four of us, all senior citizens and not staying at the hotel, were walking from Avlaki back to KASSIOPI just after midday when the heat became too much. We hesitated before asking reception to call a taxi, but the staff immediately brought us inside to enjoy the air conditioning and gave us water. They had trouble reaching a taxi because of poor reception, so one staff member drove us back to our apartments in her own car. The three people who helped us showed more kindness and support than we could have expected. They’re a credit to Bella Mare hotel. Thank you. Our five-star review says it all.

We had a brilliant two-week holiday and will be back. The hotel sits in impressive terraces above the Mediterranean, with wide views across the bay, and it’s ideal for snorkelling. There are several pools, plus a great poolside bar serving food with attentive, efficient staff. Our room was spacious, had excellent air conditioning and its own terrace. Both the hotel and Simpson staff looked after us so well. They were happy to arrange excursions, taxis, boat hire and restaurant bookings, and nothing felt like too much trouble.
