Karnayo Traditional Houses

It’s a traditional neoclassical house, and the ceiling and furniture give it a magical feel. The custom linen and towels are high quality, and the daily service shows a lot of attention to detail. The Wi-Fi and air conditioning work perfectly, too. The entrance stairs are steep, so it may not suit anyone with mobility problems. Otherwise, highly recommended.

The prices for rooms in Kastellorizo are very reasonable, and the place is in a little alley behind the coastal road. The owner, Diamantis, and his son Nikos do their best. When we arrived, though, nobody was there, so we had to call for the maid to come open the room. We were on the ground floor, where the insulation is poor, and we could constantly hear noise from the rooms above.

Great overall, and a good choice for a family stay. The internet connection was good, and restaurants are very close. The walls are a little thin, though, so you can hear people staying nearby.

It’s a clean, very basic place near the water, and the owner is nice. We didn’t get hot water because of a heater problem, and one air conditioner needs re-gassing. Everything in Kastelloriso is expensive, so don’t be surprised if it feels like poor value for the money. For two or three days, though, it’s perfect.
