There are three beaches to choose from, and even at the end of July, in peak season, none felt too busy. Sunbeds were available, and the middle beach had a free option too. We never struggled to find a table at the nearby tavernas, all within walking distance, and enjoyed fantastic sea views while eating and drinking. The people of Panormo were lovely. If you want a peaceful, easygoing break with good food, Panormos is perfect. Our accommodation was basic but spotlessly clean, the people were very lovely, and there was always room at the pool.

A quiet, picture-perfect spot on the harbor at the east end of Panormos, with the village and beaches close enough to walk to. The apartments are spacious and clean, the people are friendly, and the service is top-notch. Breakfast was beautiful and home-cooked. It's a lovely small village hotel, calm and welcoming, a gem if you want a fuss-free taste of Crete. 🇬🇷💙

We arrived on Sunday 14th August and are due to leave on the 28th. The place looked lovely and new from outside, and everything seemed freshly painted when we came in. But within an hour our feet were black because the floor was filthy and clearly hadn't been mopped. The cleaner said it had just been cleaned, but she'd only swept it. They mopped the next day, and we stopped getting black feet. The air conditioning wasn't working on Sunday, and we had to wait until Tuesday for it to be fixed. They gave us a fan, but it wasn't much use. A room safe was advertised and we were told a man would come on Sunday to install it. It still hasn't happened. There have been lots of promises and no follow-through. The advertised Wi-Fi doesn't work in the room either. We asked for an extender, and the manager said she'd get one, but never showed up with it. No apology, just an explanation that it was broken. Helena is out of her depth as manager and keeps making promises she can't deliver. We have to carry our valuables everywhere, which is ruining a holiday we've waited a long time for. We changed accommodation because my disability has got worse and I needed to be closer to the beach. There’s no shelf in the shower, so everything we use to wash has to sit on the floor. The shower adjuster comes off in our hands, and it all feels very cheaply put together. The manager is impossible to reach by text, email, or phone, and you can't find her. The TV also goes black after about ten minutes. It's just hell.
