The reception staff were nice, and the location was great. The rooms were small and old-fashioned, with worn furnishings and a low-standard bathroom. The very old air conditioners mostly worked like fans. Breakfast wasn't included, which is unusual for a three-star hotel. Since we booked through Expedia, we couldn't choose and pay for it in advance. That turned out to be fortunate: breakfast for our two rooms and four adults would have cost €80. We paid €10 per person on the first day for a mediocre breakfast that felt pricey compared with the other hotels we stayed at in Greece. It was okay overall.

It has a lodge-like feel right at the foot of the monasteries. I'm not sure you could stay any closer. I'd definitely come back.

Breakfast was good, and the coffee they served was too. You can order extra espresso drinks, but we didn't feel we needed them. Checkout was easy, and the staff there were brilliant. The receptionist made us feel like old friends right away, explained everything, showed us the room, and offered us options. Our room was spacious and comfortable. It felt a little like stepping back in time, but everything was clean and worked well. The hotel had a calming effect on me for some reason. It's a very cute little place at the foot of the mountains, and I'd definitely recommend it if you're staying in Kastraki before visiting the monasteries.

The upstairs rooms have a wonderful view of Meteora and the monasteries, and the hotel is classy, nicely decorated, and very clean. But the bed wasn't very comfortable, and the shower design sent water all over the place. The common areas look pretty and are clean, yet it was too hot to sit in the lobby, upstairs sitting area, or halls. They don't use the air conditioning or open the windows. Breakfast felt like eating in a steam room, and staff wouldn't let the windows or doors stay open, even though the outside air was magnificent. It was such a pity. The staff could smile now and then too. I didn't feel very welcome. Three stars, to be kind. 😔

The rooms were clean and had a/c, and the staff were professional and friendly. The location was great, right in the centre of town and quite near the Meteora monasteries. They served a full breakfast from 7.30 am, with a variety of choices.
