Finikas Hotel

The room was roomy and had a stunning view, and we even found a bottle of wine waiting for us. Service, cleanliness, and facilities were impressive for such affordable prices. Anna at reception was lovely and shared the history of finikas, including the 800 year old cedar tree. In the restaurant, olga was especially kind about getting me coffee early in the morning. The staff here are amazing. This is Greek hospitality at its best, with 5* comfort and service at 2* prices.

There were some things I liked: the sea water pool, the private beach, including a little nook where nobody can see you, a new hotel with nice looking rooms, and a car rental that worked well. There are also 2-3 taverns within walking distance, though check their opening hours. The food was good. The trouble is that the luxury feels more like marketing. I’d put the quality at 2-3 stars, with the look of a 4 star hotel and the prices of a 5 star one. The street in front is noisy, as is the kitchen, with an open window and some machines facing the pool. The website mentions a pillow menu, but staff didn’t know about it, though we did get some very similar pillows. Staff were friendly, but not helpful with complaints. They’re very young, which is fine, and did what they could, but seemed inexperienced with luxury service, even if their outfits looked the part. It gives the impression that an investor wants to make a lot of money while quality stays low.

I wanted a quiet hotel overlooking a beautiful beach, without crowds of tourists, and it was hard to find one like this. The place is fantastic for a relaxing stay, and the staff are very friendly and helpful, making sure you have a great time.

The beach is just across the road, which hardly gets any cars, so from the window it feels like you’re right on the sand. The complimentary loungers are comfy, though my daughter thought the beach was a little rocky. She also noticed Sylvestera, an adorable black and white cat who sits by your restaurant table with one paw raised. It’s not right by Naxos Town, and that distance brings some welcome quiet. The hotel has been amazing, and all the staff have been helpful and shared good places to visit.
