Guesthouse Kastelia

I arrived a week before my booked dates after mistakenly selecting the wrong ones. I explained the honest mistake to the owner in person right away and hoped for some flexibility, especially as it's the slow season and locals said the area wasn't fully booked. The hotel acknowledged the mix-up but wouldn't offer a refund or any compromise. The response felt rigid and unhelpful, and left me feeling that guest care wasn't a priority. Given the circumstances, I expected a full refund. This experience made me question the management's professionalism and integrity, so I can't recommend staying here. There are plenty of other places around Meteora with much more understanding staff and better service.

A family-run boutique hotel with Greek hospitality at its best. The rooms are standard but well equipped, quiet despite being on a main road thanks to good enclosures, and impeccably clean. It's centrally located in Kastraki, with good views of the Meteora rock formations.

I was here with an ebike group in April 2025. It wasn't a bad experience, but it wasn't great either, mainly because of the owner's attitude. The location is excellent, right in the village center with easy access and views of the cliffs. There's ample parking and a small outdoor yard. The clean, spacious rooms were nice, and I can't complain about them. There is no pool, though. The pool photos are from another hotel. The service is what brings the place down. The owner seemed very focused on money, asking for payment up front with no possibility of a refund if anything wasn't as expected. I wouldn't bother with breakfast: it's plain, with little choice. The really weird part was having the owner's parents sit in the room staring at the wall while we ate. It felt awkward, like we were in someone's home and weren't welcome. Good luck getting a refund if you don't like the breakfast. The dogs in the yard were horrible, barking and whining all night. If your room faces the back, you won't sleep. They seemed to be tied up all day in a small dirt patch. I guess the location makes up for some of this, but people should know what to expect.

Wouldn't recommend this place. The mattresses were uncomfortable, and the fuse panel made noise, so you had to turn off the room's electricity to sleep. Dogs in the yard barked all night, and the windows didn't close tightly enough to keep the noise out. Breakfast was extremely expensive and offered very little variety. The biggest tourist trap.
