A fair price for a cosy room with its own bathroom. We only needed it for showers and sleep after exploring and hiking, and it suited us well. The shared kitchen came in handy for a morning snack or tea before bed. I didn’t use the common living room or outdoor areas. Nikos Guesthouse is a warm, welcoming place right at the entrance to the fantastic Meteora Monastaries, with their unique rockformations and landscape. I’ll book again when I come back.
July 2024: Amazing for the price. The room has AC and a mini fridge, and the wifi worked well the whole time I was there. The shared kitchen is great and fully stocked.
NOT AS ADVERTISED! We had to leave after just one night because the place was unbearable. It wasn’t air-conditioned, despite the listing saying it was, and complaints about things like the bathrooms and WiFi were ignored. The owner claimed we stayed two nights and refused a refund, although we have a receipt proving otherwise. There are lots of nice hotels in the village, so go somewhere else.
The host was very friendly, and there’s good food in the nearby town. It’s only a 10 minute drive to the monasteries in Meteora. We had a really nice stay, though one of the showers felt a bit cramped if you’re tall.
