The price felt fair for Pension Gallini, especially since my research showed August accommodation on Amorgos was expensive in general. The hostess was kind and helpful. My only small issue was the air conditioning: when I switched it on, it smelled a little moldy, so I cleaned it a bit and dealt with that. I’d suggest renovating the bathrooms.

We were treated to sweets when we arrived and again as we headed off, which was a lovely touch. The room comfortably fit four, and the place was clean and close to both the town and the port. We stayed four nights and everything went really well. I highly recommend it!

Poppy was kind and helpful. She also works with her family at a very good pastry shop and restaurant. We paid €45 a night, which seemed good value beside similar places. The ground-floor room was small, had no window, and there was no kitchen, only a fridge, kettle and dishes. Outside, two chairs and a little table were set on the balcony facing the garden, though it wasn’t a private balcony. The air conditioning was quiet. The property sits at the edge of Katapola, about 300 metres from the port, and you can only get there on foot. That makes it very quiet. It’s fine for a short stay if you’re easygoing and don’t expect too much.
