Dion Palace Resort & Spa

Cleanliness was the one thing that consistently impressed us. Our room and the shared spaces were kept clean, and the housekeeping team was helpful, professional and considerate of our small child's sleep schedule. We would not return, though, and the experience even made us wonder if we'd visit this part of Greece again. The hotel felt outdated and poorly maintained. The room air conditioning barely worked, and it wasn't on in the common areas. Traveling with a small child, we found the heat extremely uncomfortable. The pools were acceptable, though they didn't look well cared for. We had expected sand at the beach, but it was stony and unsuitable for young children. When we asked reception for a baby cot, we were told they weren't available and asked, “Why do you need one? You have a sofa bed.” The hotel accepts bookings for infants under one, so this felt unprepared for families. The service also fell short of five-star hospitality. We waited over 30 minutes at reception and then discovered the staff outside smoking. Housekeeping was the exception. Restaurant staff were polite and doing their best, but seemed overwhelmed and short-staffed. The manager watched from the sidelines while they struggled through each meal service and didn't step in to help. The all-inclusive meals were repetitive, with little variety, few fruits and almost no traditional Greek food. Outside the main meals there were no snacks, and only local drinks were included, with everything else costing extra. Eating felt like a necessity instead of an enjoyable part of the stay. In our view, Dion Palace Resort and Spa might have deserved five stars 15-20 years ago, but now it barely meets a three-star standard.

Our short October break was amazing. This was our second visit this year, and we came with friends this time. All 11 of us had a really lovely stay. With the all-inclusive setup, we had everything we wanted and didn't need to leave the hotel.

The safe setting for families with kids, lovely beach and pools, and great food made this a memorable trip again. The rooms were elegant and the hospitality was exceptional. We'd already been here once, and this was our second stay. Best stay ever, highly recommend. ❤️ Thanks so much!

We came as two families and had no trouble finding a sunbed. The sea and beach are beautiful, and the staff were hardworking and helpful. The roads to the seafront bungalows get very dark in the evening, so they could use better lighting. We chose a classic room, while the other family stayed in a seafront bungalow. Both were clean and had everything needed. I'd recommend the bungalows for the extra space, beach proximity and view. We'd read some reviews and felt hesitant before arriving, but things were fine. Food choices were adequate and we found something we liked each day, though the show dinners could be expanded. At breakfast, an omelet made to order could add variety to the daily fried eggs. On fish themed nights, grilled sea bass or sea bream could be prepared as a show dinner. Evening piano concerts by the main bar and pool would also be a nice activity.
