Gorgona Apartments & Studios

Great value for the price, with a comfortable bed and a large outdoor seating area. The location is good, too.

The apartment was roomy and conveniently placed near the sea and local area, but the owners’ behavior made our stay unpleasant. We felt watched because they were almost always sitting in the courtyard. Once, we went out of our way to greet them and got no reply. The cleaning lady’s visit also felt more like a reason to inspect the apartment than a useful service, so we strongly recommend skipping it. At checkout, exactly at 11:00, we had left the place clean and tidy. The owner said a towel was missing, which wasn’t true, and seemed to be an excuse to keep our deposit. We were told someone would arrive in 30 minutes to check the apartment. We waited before putting our luggage in the closet, but the lady became angry and tried to drive us away. She wouldn’t even let us sit on the courtyard chairs. Then she spoke rudely and insisted on English, although our communication had always been in Italian. Our deposit was returned only after a heated discussion. They also offered a locked room for luggage, but that felt like another way to keep control over guests. The kitchen was dated and poorly equipped. They didn’t provide salt, sugar, oil, coffee, or similar basics, and kept the supplies left by previous guests instead of passing them on. That seemed bizarre. The good location and space couldn’t make up for how unpleasant the owners made the stay.

Eleni and her mother were friendly and helpful from the start, and made everything feel peaceful and welcoming. The clean, well-organized house was good value and well placed for exploring the island as well as going out at night, with no noise to disturb us. If I come back to Corfu, I’d definitely contact them again. See you next vacation!

We found the apartment very pleasant for a short stay. It’s just steps from the sea but away from the nightlife noise, so the location is ideal. The soundproofing is the one downside. Everything else was very satisfactory.
