Alkioni Hotel

It's basic but clean, and the location is excellent for walking to the beach, restaurants and nearby places. You can probably find nicer accommodation, but it may be far from the places of interest. For a basic hotel in such a prime spot, what else would you expect? If you're taking a trip, the pickup point is outside the hotel.

The pool was beautiful and looked gorgeous at night, and the rooms were spacious, with lovely balconies and daily cleaning. Staff were so welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was amazing, served from 8am to 10am, and they made more quickly when something ran out. The special club sandwich was tasty and a generous portion. It's a perfect location, just five minutes from the beach. The only thing I'd change is the alcohol selection. Other than that, everything was perfect! ❤️

The pool is excellent, with loungers for everyone, and the hotel is handy for local shops, beach spots and restaurants. Our room had a huge balcony with excellent views, and was well looked after, cleaned daily with plenty of fresh towels. The staff were lovely and always helpful. We could make tea and coffee in the room, but had no way to properly wash and dry the mugs and glasses. Having them changed regularly would be a good alternative. Breakfast was generous, though the cooked items were generally cold, which seemed unusual. That's our only small observation and it didn't cause us any problems. We really enjoyed our stay, it's a lovely place.

It's a small hotel in a good spot near the beach and a few little shops. I'd advise renting a car, though, because public transport is poor and Kefalonia is a beautiful island that really needs to be seen by car. The rooms were clean, and the staff were okay, friendly and calm. There were lots of leaves in the pool, and one day it was unavailable all day for maintenance and cleaning. It was sad seeing the disappointed, bored children who were waiting to jump in. Breakfast was a total joke: very little choice, and a lady served limited items, the same every day. It was upsetting to hear other guests say they were still hungry after getting small portions, and you felt uncomfortable asking for more.
