The old railway gives you a lovely walk into the city, and the building has the feel of a romantic 60s film set. Staff were all extra friendly, the rooms were clean, and the views were spectacular. It's near enough to the beaches but far enough from the downtown bustle. Be sure to book a sea-view room, though you can still enjoy the scenery over a meal or coffee. There’s a huge tree on the terrace, and the garden-side rooms are nice for their privacy, with wildlife in the neighboring trees to watch. The restaurant deserves a mention too. The food was really good, with a traditional menu that has a twist. If you're comfortable eating in, it's worth considering extra meals with your room. Or you can order the day's menu separately for a standard price. Great value for the money, no complaints at all, and I'd recommend it over any spot in the downtown area. One downside was the doors. Guests don't seem to know they need to be pulled shut, and they bang loudly. In my experience, that was enough to wake you before breakfast, but not before sunrise.

The shaded, stone-style yard has lots of tables and places to sit, and a secluded beach with natural shade is right in front of the hotel. The staff were exceptionally hospitable, and the food was very good. One of the best value-for-money places I've ever come across.

The staff's treatment left me with a negative impression, even though the room and breakfast were better than that might suggest. The room is solid for a 2-star place, and the facilities match the description on booking.com, though the bathroom could use a little improvement. Breakfast was much better than I expected. I had taken an 8-hour flight to Athens, then driven for four hours to get here. Carrying my bags, I accidentally entered the restaurant building instead of the hotel. As I crossed paths with the hotelier coming out, he said, “Not here, this is the restaurant.” I replied along the lines of, “Sorry, I didn't know,” but he rudely followed with, “Well what does this look like to you? A hotel or a restaurant?” This could otherwise be a way-above-average property, but I think hospitality is a service business, and a warm welcome matters. That's why my rating is below par.

The hotel is in a very good location, with a nice sea view. The rooms need better upkeep, and breakfast was poor. That should be improved.

I stopped at hotel Olympus during a road trip through Greece and had a great stay. The sea views are fantastic, with the beach just metres away, and historic Platamon Castle is close by too. The rooms were clean, and the staff were super friendly and helpful with suggestions for things to do. Dinner at hotel Olympus was really nice as well, with authentic Greek food. Definitely recommend!
