The apartment itself was nice and clean, but the bathroom setup left us disappointed. There aren’t actually two bathrooms: downstairs there’s a large bathroom with a toilet and washing machine, while upstairs there’s a closet converted into a toilet, and its door doesn’t close properly. The owners should make that clear. We only needed somewhere to sleep and shower for one night, but the bathroom arrangement and a hot water problem made for a negative impression. They came over and fixed the hot water, but this should have been dealt with before we arrived, or we should have been told clearly what to do to get it running. If two separate full bathrooms hadn’t mattered to us, it would have been fine.

The apartment was roomy, comfortable, fully equipped, and the bed was comfortable too. It looked even better in person than in the photos, and the internet connection was good. The owners were friendly and helpful. We had a larger car, but it fit perfectly in the secured garage downstairs. The location made it easy to walk to the center, and the old town and castle were also nearby. We stayed two nights, though the size, facilities, and location would work well for a longer visit too.

Having parking for two cars was a real bonus. The apartment was clean and welcoming, and the host was lovely. Five stars all around.

We were welcomed into 2026 with a traditional New Year's cake from our lovely hosts, a really thoughtful touch. The apartment was warm, roomy, very clean and comfortable, right in the center of Kavala. We had a wonderful stay.
