Koulouris Beach Hotel

The pool area was lovely, but the staff’s behavior made us uncomfortable being there. I wouldn’t stay again, even if I were paid to. The rooms were nothing like the advertisements, which I found misleading and false. The bar staff were the exception, but the rest were unbelievably rude. One night, we got back to find that the door wouldn’t unlock. Luckily, we’d left a window open. We reported it the next morning, and maintenance came that afternoon. The men shouted in our faces and called us “silly english women.” Later the hotel accused us of deliberately breaking the lock. Why would four 18 year old girls leave themselves in an unlocked room with all our possessions and valuables? I have no idea. We made friends at the hotel and found out people were charged different amounts for things like air-con and deposits. The manager also accused us of keeping him awake at 5am every morning, which wasn’t true. At those hours, we were either still out or in bed. We were also shamed over the state of our room, but four 18 year old girls living out of suitcases with almost no storage are going to have belongings around. We’d booked two rooms, but one was disgusting, so all of us stayed in the family room with two single beds and two bunks. One night my friend felt unwell and tried the other room. She said the bed was uncomfortable and creaky, impossible to sleep on, so she moved the mattress onto the floor by a charger port because there wasn’t one beside the bed. After that, they accused us of ruining the linen and threatened to charge us. They kept our deposit. Maybe upgrade the sleeping arrangements.

We loved being right on the beach, where we could swim or just take in the view. The pool was clean and a relaxing place to spend sunny days. The staff were really friendly and ready to help, and the restaurant food was delicious. Having breakfast each morning with a sea view was amazing! Our room had been completely renovated. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The hotel is near the center of Kavos, so shops and bars were easy to reach on foot, but it still felt peaceful. We had a great time and would happily come back. Great place and great people!

The pool area had a lovely friendly feel, with plenty of comfortable sun beds looking out over the beach and scenery. The bar staff were helpful and friendly, and both the breakfasts and poolside meals were spot on. My room was clean, spacious, and airy, with superb views. I’d read some bad reviews and felt a bit apprehensive before my stay at Koulouris Beach Hotel, but as an older guest I really enjoyed it. I couldn’t fault the place and would definitely return.

The people there, including a group of boys on their stag, made my mum and dad’s week. The staff were great too, and they especially loved how close the beach was and that the bar stayed open 24/7. The rooms are VERY BASIC. I booked them an upgrade to a top floor sea view, but they were still shocked to find there was no storage, so they had to live out of suitcases all week. There’s no TV or anything in the room. They do the trick, but expect basic rooms and an extra air-con charge, as many places there have.
