UMBRELLA BEACH APARTMENTs

We found it reasonably clean and convenient, with access to a pool and sandy beach. But the pool parties at Utopia next door were heavy and excessively loud, right outside the window. I wouldn't recommend it for a peaceful holiday or for parents with kids.

The reservation was for one apartment, paid by unit at €480. The manager tried to charge us €1,500 because there were three of us. After we said we'd call the police, the lady asked for €500 instead, without offering a receipt, and said we could stay in the apartment. We called Booking support in the end, and it was all settled. A horrible experience. I won't go back or recommend this place to anyone.

We were quite happy with Umbrella apartments, though Kavos wasn't the right town for our family trip to south Corfu. It's geared toward teenagers and wild clubs and parties, so we didn't fit in. We made the four days enjoyable by driving out to different beaches. Marathias was the best one. The apartment's away from the party noise but still close enough to walk to dinner, and there's free private parking. It's right by the beach, though the beach throughout Kavos is awful, which isn't the hotel's fault. The pool was very nice and extremely clean, and the bar prices were reasonable. Staff were friendly, including the kind owner, Mr. Spiros. The rooms were good, with AC and a small kitchenette, and it's pet friendly. The Wi-Fi was horrible, almost nonexistent. We paid around €60 a night for three people in July, which was very good value. You'd want a car to explore other beaches.

The rooms, cleanliness, pool, seaside setting, service and courtesy were all good. Being in Kavos wasn't an advantage for us with small children.
