Georgia made me feel so welcome, with lovely conversations and delicious food. She treated me almost like family, which meant a lot since I was travelling alone and had already had a few unpleasant experiences. The older gentleman was just as kind: although ferry delays meant I arrived very late, he showed me to my room and gave me the key without any fuss. Everything about arriving was easy. My room was beautiful, and the quiet mountain setting felt like a real escape from everyday life. The views are stunning too. It felt like home, and I plan to return even with that winding drive up! I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Crete. Thanks to you both for making my trip so much better. See you soon, much love from Gina.

We came back from a long walk around the area to a lovely jacuzzi bath, which was especially welcome. The scenery is beautiful, and the peaceful setting is perfect for relaxing. Georgia was a fantastic host and cook, and we loved trying local dishes we wouldn't otherwise have had. If the track worries you, just take it slowly in the car and you'll be fine. We'd definitely stay again :)

Georgia greeted us so warmly and was incredibly friendly. Be sure to ask her for "Georgia's coffee"! We loved the tasty food, the lovely pool, and all the sunbeds. Our room had amazing views, and everyone was welcoming. It's a clean, pleasant place for any kind of holiday, and we're definitely coming back. The drive there can be a bit tricky the first time, and you'll need a car. Once you arrive, though, it's an amazing place.

The lovely view was the one real highlight. The pool is tiny, more like a bathtub, so it isn't suitable for swimming, and kids seemed to be in it all the time. There's also very little to do around the hotel. The facilities are starting to look worn, with spots on the mirror and other signs of age. The room, especially the living room, felt very narrow. The location among the hills also means a winding 20-30 minute drive wherever you want to go. I found the stay rather disappointing.

We spent a really enjoyable stay at Estate Kares, and the magnificent view across Iraklion was a treat throughout. Georgia and the rest of the estate team gave us a warm welcome, and we enjoyed every moment. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. If anything is missing or something isn't right, Georgia will sort it out if you ask. Breakfast was great, and we'd recommend having dinner at the estate too.
