Chrysoula Hotel & Apartments

We had a lovely time at Chrysoula Hotel, and the service was so helpful. From the hotel, it’s about 200 metres to the sand and shingle beach of Saint Stefanos, and Kastri island is close enough to swim to. You can explore there, ring the church bell, and enjoy the views. The old Saint Stefanos Church ruins are a short stroll along the beach too. Chrysoula Hotel is in Kefalos Bay, around 15 minutes from Kos International Airport, 30 meters from Kefalos main road with its supermarket, bus stop, and rental options for cars, motorbikes, and bicycles. The old town of Kefalos is 3km away. Kos is in the Aegean Sea and is one of Greece’s beautiful islands. We visited on Saturday 24th of August 2025. Amazing experience, highly recommended.

We paid €33/d at Annas for a car including insurance, and renting one makes it easier to see Kos Island since the bus is limited. The hotel itself has a relaxed, authentic feel, with families, pool loungers, and all sorts of visitors. It’s easy to walk to the beach and swim over to the little island to ring the church bell or snorkel. Anna’s car rental has cars and scooters, and there’s a good market nearby for food and beach supplies. The pool is huge, clean, and has a lifeguard. Our apartment was cleaned every day, and the grounds, dining area, and pool area were often being cleaned too. Breakfast is a buffet with plenty of choices. Fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, and other produce they grow themselves are used in the meals, which is rare. Staff speak English and Italian, and gave us personal help planning our visit. It’s a family run place, a dying breed on Kos, with a personal feel rather than a sterile corporate hotel. The apartment was clean and we appreciated the attention. The air conditioning and safe cost extra, but you might not need them, so it’s nice they’re optional. The shower is small, but that’s Europe.

The clean pool was the best part of an otherwise pretty depressing hotel. The room felt old, with dated furniture and beds, and the place needs renovation. There were lots of ants on the balcony and some bugs in the bathroom. The bathtub was tiny, and the shower curtain kept sticking to me so I couldn't turn around. The dishes were so dirty that I couldn't cook or even make breakfast. I also want to thank the cleaning lady from Palestine. She was incredibly kind and attentive, and made sure everything was right. Her warm smile and friendly manner made my stay more comfortable.

I left all my jewelry in the room, and the person in charge was so kind to send it back to me in Berlin. The place is just a five-minute walk from a really nice beach. My room was good, with a huge balcony, and breakfast was really complete. I had a lovely stay and can highly recommend this place.
