Ionikos Hotel

We only went to the hotel's beach lounges, not the hotel itself. For 10€ we got two loungers and an umbrella, plus access to the hotel's bathroom, showers, pool, and food and snack bar. Super convenient, and the lady was very polite. Definitely recommend.

The hotel's location is excellent, right beside the beach, with lovely views from the rooms facing the pool. It's quiet, and you can watch sunrise and sunset over the island and Kefalos Bay. The pool looked very nice, though we didn't try it. The helpful, friendly staff, especially Chrisula, do their best to make you feel at home. Lunches were tasty traditional Greek food, with huge portions at small prices. The pool bar was nice too, with very big cocktails for 6 euro. Towels were changed every day, and the cleaner vacuumed the floor daily. There were some real drawbacks for us. The internet was very poor by the pool and unstable throughout the day, which could be a problem for visitors from outside the EU without an included data package. Breakfast was very sparse and exactly the same for all seven days: boiled eggs, baguette, mini jams and butter, and something that looked like ham but wasn't. The amount was probably enough for most people, but I can't imagine eating the same thing for two weeks. The biggest issue for me was the bathroom. The bathroom itself wasn't small, but the shower cubicles were extremely small, and the shower head was so clogged that we had to stand nearly against the wall. There was no cold water coming from the sink. I guess the pressure was low because they need to water the plants constantly in the heat. I think the bathrooms need a thorough renovation as soon as possible. I do recommend the hotel for its good points, but I'd think twice about returning unless I read positive reviews about the bathrooms first.

We arrived with my daughter and felt welcome straight away. The room had a kettle, fridge, and hairdryer, and the beds were clean and comfortable, with the best pillows for a good night's sleep. The snack bar offers lunch options and drinks at very reasonable prices. The pool area was clean, with lots of sunbeds and a large, deep pool. I can't fault our stay. The owner and her sons are super friendly. I highly recommend Ionikos and will be back next year.

We didn't stay here, just stopped by for a meal. The food was really good and the waitress was very sweet. 😊
