We’d all love to return as soon as we can. We had a superb 10-night holiday, with a lovely pool area and a surprisingly quiet, relaxed atmosphere. The family were all very friendly and considerate, and the rooms were very clean, with cleaning every other day and fresh towels. The food was excellent, with generous portions. We tried other restaurants in Kefalos, but kept coming back to Dimitri, "our" chef. Thanks to everyone at Mayflower Peros.

The rooms are basic, and air conditioning costs an extra 7 or 8 euros a night. The family are welcoming and hospitable, though. We really enjoyed our week and would happily stay again. Thanks for having us.

I found the staff unfriendly and the accommodation basic and run-down. The location is far from the main resort, in a run-down part of Kefalos. The price is cheap, so you get what you pay for, but I felt the staff were rude and tried to push pool bar drinks despite this being self-catering accommodation. One morning, while I was borrowing a book from the bar area with my coffee from the room, I was aggressively asked, “how I am supposed to make a living?” I was planning to return to our accommodation right away, and other guests were shocked by how I was spoken to. The next day I was given a completely different reason: a local tax official would supposedly issue a €1000 fine for drinking a small bottle of water by the pool. Both incidents upset me, and I followed up with Jet2 as the operator. The air conditioning in our room was broken, and I believe it had been switched off to save the owners money. In the heat, the room was unbearably hot. When I asked about it, I was told it could be “fixed” or switched on for a fee. The hob and kitchen were incredibly basic and, frankly, not worth bothering with. To me, this is a substandard hotel, and the owners and staff were unwelcoming, especially if you weren’t using the extra facilities. I’d look at Fourtounis or Katherina nearby, which seem to be alternatives at comparable prices. I recommend looking elsewhere for several reasons.

It’s a really relaxing place, close to the beach, pubs and restaurants. The family-run apartments are lovely and clean, the owners are great and go above and beyond, and the food and drinks are good and well-priced. The pool area is clean and well maintained. I couldn’t fault anything and would definitely recommend it.
