Hotel Holiday

There was no service to speak of: no breakfast, bar, hairdryer, or luggage storage, even though storage had been agreed. There’s no lift either, so luggage had to go up the stairs. The shower was tiny and the hot water was rarely there. The elderly owners weren’t available at all. Absolutely not recommended.

Good value for the price and a good location. The hotel is run by two older owners.

We had booked one night for Friday so we could leave early Saturday morning for Thassos. I called on Thursday morning to confirm and said we’d arrive after 22:00, hopefully before midnight. We got there at 23:15 and were put in a room that smelled strongly of mold. The mattress springs were visible before anyone even lay down, and water was dripping from the bathroom ceiling onto a mirror with a built-in light. Within ten minutes, the water had reached the area by the bed. When I told the hotelier, he said there was no other room because I had said 22:00, arrived later, and he’d given our room to someone else. We got our money back and left. We weren’t going to risk electrocution or sleep on a wet mattress. It felt irresponsible and greedy, and the owner mainly tried to blame us for being late. He hadn’t even asked for a contact number, or written one down when I called to confirm.

My wife and granddaughter really enjoyed their stay. The hotel is old, but it’s kept up well and very clean, and the owners are kind and welcoming. The terrace and its view are the best, there’s nowhere else like it in Keramoti. We’ll come back.
