Milaki Kimolos

The room was nice and the Wi-Fi worked well, but it was noisy because it's so close to the main road. This is part of a large accommodation group, with no local services. In our case, we had to walk to the port to check in, then head uphill to our room. Many places in Kimolos offer a free transfer. The port and hora are each about a 10-minute walk away, so neither is far, but you still have to walk.

The staff were friendly, but this felt like awful value for money. The check-in desk is about 1.3 kilometers from the room, and they don't do much to make that clear to guests. If you arrive at the rooms without knowing, they'll still insist you walk back down to the port, whatever the time or temperature. It was 43 degrees when they did that to us. They apologized after we’d walked, and then we found out they actually had a shuttle service they hadn’t told us about. They drove us back to the room, at least. That kind of service might be fine at a lower price, but not for what they charge. I’d suggest visitors to such a small island make the effort to find rooms owned and run by locals instead of hotel chains. They had one job.

A note for anyone booking: they don’t have king-size beds. The hotel lists the rooms incorrectly, since every bed is queen-size, 1.60 m by 2.0 m. Rooms facing the street can also be noisy. The housekeeping woman was excellent and super friendly. The hotel itself is well placed between Chora and the port, so you can get around on foot. Rooms are spacious and clean, with excellent Coco-Mat beds, and breakfast is served on the small terrace outside your room.

The room was spacious, nice, and super clean, and the staff were attentive throughout. Sales manager Mr Yiannis was especially friendly and helpful. Having an electric vehicle charging station at the hotel meant we didn't have to worry about the car running out of battery. I’ll certainly stay here again.
