Pension Giannis

We couldn’t wait to get out of there. The owner and cleaning lady became very rude and negative toward us, ignored our messages, and seemed to brush off our requests. The cleaning lady was rude, made a lot of noise in the hall and other rooms in the morning, and threatened us with her fist if we said anything bad about the cleaning. We were also repeatedly argued with about the cleaning rules. The day before my husband’s birthday, we asked not to be disturbed. In the morning, while we were asleep, she knocked and then opened the door. We got scared and tried to shut it; she got scared too, then shouted at us for not telling her, even though we had. The next day she started arguing about it again. We calmly stopped her and talked, and she said she usually cleans when she doesn’t see the car in the parking lot. Our car was still there, so that made no sense. At the end, the owner waited and glared at us while we left. Other problems: the doors slammed at night in the wind. There was no shower curtain or mop, so water got everywhere, including on the toilet. The AC was positioned over the bed, and the room stayed very hot day and night; the AC couldn’t make much of a difference for long.

The owner and housekeeper were both very kind and welcoming, and the room was cleaned daily. It’s a lovely place to stay, right next to the beach.

We were the first tourists at Giannis Pension, and had a great time. Our three nights were full of joy, quiet, sweet fruit, and fresh air. There are two beaches within walking distance, plus two restaurants serving delicious food.

I phoned to reserve a room for 2-7 Aug 2023, two weeks ahead, and the lady took my name and phone number. When I called the same lady on 2 Aug, the day we were due to arrive, she said there was no booking under that name. It ruined my vacation. Be careful about booking with them by phone.
