The best parts were the peaceful view, the quiet surroundings, the beautiful sea, and Mrs. Stavroula’s warm, kind service at breakfast. The homemade breakfast was delicious. Getting around is difficult without a car because the hotel is fairly remote. There’s a lovely beach down a manageable but tiring path, and beach shoes would be useful for getting into the water. Our stay was also frustrating from the moment we arrived. We had told the hotel we were bringing our 1.5 kg Chihuahua toy dog, and it accepts pets by request. After our tiring journey, the hotelier spoke to us rather rudely about keeping the dog off the sheets, saying he would have to throw them away if he found even one hair because another guest might have an allergy. He added suspiciously that we shouldn’t think we could fool him because he’d know. I didn’t understand the concern, since the room should be cleaned for the next guest anyway. If pets are accepted, some hair is possible, even if the dog stays off the bed, as it can transfer from our clothes. They could simply decline pets if they can’t clean the sheets properly. That lecture made me expect the room to be especially clean, but I found a face towel with a large brown stain and returned it. The curtains were very dusty, and we were sneezing and having allergies throughout the stay. Despite the stated daily housekeeping, each of our two rooms was cleaned only once in four days. The rooms need renovation, including the screens, knobs, wall paint, and awning. The outdoor lighting also needs attention. When we returned late one night, the lights were off and we needed a flashlight to get to our room. There were two 500 ml water bottles in the room fridge, with no notice that they cost extra. At checkout we were told we owed 30 euros, 24 euros in taxes and 6 euros for six bottles of water. The receptionist was insolent and poorly mannered, refused our card because she said she didn’t know how to use the POS, and seemed unsure about a bank transfer. We had to pay cash, which we luckily had with us, since the nearest ATM is 60 km away, a round trip to Areopolis. She said she’d email the receipt, but the one we received listed only the 24 euros in taxes. The lovely view and sea, along with Mrs. Stavroula’s kindness at breakfast, were the only pleasant parts. I’m giving this rating because the customer and hotel services don’t match a 4-star hotel.

The bay views are a highlight of Porto Mani Suites, and the hotel’s location overlooking Porto Mani makes it a good fit for a relaxing, indulgent getaway. It offers luxurious accommodation and amenities for guests hoping for a memorable stay.

The personal service made me feel like a VIP, and the rooms had lovely decor. Porto Suites has plenty of charm and character for a boutique hotel. I’m already looking forward to coming back.

The staff were really welcoming, but the room’s upkeep and cleanliness need work, and the mattress wasn’t comfortable. For what it costs per night, 2 out of 5 stars feels fair.
