Tsamis Zante Hotel

The sea was incredibly clear, the pool area was great, and we really liked the food and the look of the place. Everything was very clean, calm and laid-back, and the staff were polite and helpful. It was a little far from town, but that didn’t bother us. Just right for our girls’ trip.

The food was the standout for us. Dinner was the best hotel buffet I’ve had, with a different spread and cuisine each night and lots of choices for meat, fish, salads, vegetables and desserts. It never felt repetitive, and breakfast was consistently good. The hotel is out of the way, with only a supermarket nearby, so half board makes sense. We spent a lovely week here. When we arrived, we were given welcome drinks, and one of the managers took our cases to the room, showed us around and explained how everything worked. It felt like VIP treatment. The whole team, from the managers to the waiting staff and Doris, were friendly, hardworking and happy to help. The pools were spacious and well maintained, with plenty of loungers and beautiful views. It had a peaceful, oasis-like feel, and the bar staff would bring drinks to our sunbed. We never had trouble finding a place to sit, even in the afternoon. Our room looked like the pictures, was always very clean, and had a nice private pool. The gym was small but pleasant, with enough equipment for a short workout, including two treadmills. The issue was noise and smoke from neighboring rooms. We could hear people next door talking or watching TV every night, and guests upstairs walking around and using the shower and toilet. We don’t smoke, and sometimes smoke from outside drifted into our room or reached us when we were outdoors. It would have been better to separate smoking and non-smoking rooms. Even so, we had a wonderful stay and would come back.

We only stayed one night after being transferred here from our hotel, but it was a lovely visit and I hope to return for longer. The owner greeted us warmly, and we were given wine. The staff were especially kind and caring, and the hotel itself is beautiful, with wonderful pools and a delicious breakfast.

The grounds are gorgeous, and our superior suite was comfortable, with a great ocean view and a private pool. The pool looked lovely, but in September it was far too cold to use. July or August might be different, but for us it was only decorative. For a five-star hotel, the toiletries also fell short, with no vanity set or shower cap.
