The quiet is one of the best parts here. We woke to sunshine and roosters, with none of the usual tourist noise around. If you want the usual tourist feel with facilities all around you, this might not be the right place. But for peace and a once-in-a-lifetime taste of life in a local mountain village in Crete, absolutely come here 👍 It's a traditional Cretan stone house with family history, renovated really well for modern comfort and decorated with love. We enjoyed living and cooking there and getting a feel for local life in the lovely mountain area of western Crete. Konstantina couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. She waited up late for us on arrival, explained everything in detail, and gave us great suggestions. We could ask her anything. She even brought fresh vegetables from her grandmother's garden and bread, so we didn't have to worry about breakfast. The location is great for reaching the main road and the beaches in the west. Amazing experience, totally recommend.

The host was incredibly helpful, and the accommodation was clean and comfortable, set in a beautiful spot with lovely mountain views. The only reason I didn't give five stars is that it's a good bit away from amenities like tavernas and restaurants, with nothing within walking distance. If that doesn't bother you, it's a great place to stay and relax.
