Of the six apartments and hotels we've stayed in around Crete, including Heraklion, Chania, and Rethymno, this was our favorite by far. The apartment was modern, spacious, and clean, and Giannis was a great host who offered helpful recommendations proactively. You can walk to everything you need, and by car you can easily get to the famous beaches of Balos, Falassarna, and Elafonisi. Still, we'd suggest spending a few days in town and at the local beach. Kissamos felt very relaxing, with far fewer tourists at the end of May, and all the residents we met were very friendly. Paralia Macros Molos is a beautiful beach and good for kids, as it slopes gently into the water. We also recommend Babel restaurant.

We found the apartment fantastic, especially as a base for visiting a different beach each day, including Elefonissi, Falassarna, and Balos. We were there with two small children and would happily recommend it. Jannis was great to communicate with, and the apartment has been modernized beautifully. Cleanliness is clearly a priority. Having a washing machine, hairdryer, iron, shower gel and shampoo, coffee maker with ground coffee, filters and sugar, toaster, and clean dishes was a lifesaver. Thanks for the kind hospitality. We'll definitely be back :-)
