Eleni's Village Suites

Ivi welcomed me with coffee and a chat, and gave me great tips on where to eat and which beaches to visit. The studio was huge, with a well-equipped kitchen, a table outside, and its own terrace. I could park my car or scooter right out front. The bed was comfortable and the shower was big and powerful. It was quiet enough to properly rest from Mykonos craziness. The place is a five-minute drive from town. I rented a scooter, and getting around was really easy.

We travel with our two small dogs, and had the perfect room at Eleni's Village Suites. The village was very well kept, and everyone at reception and the breakfast chef were friendly. Our room was spacious, clean, had nice lighting in the bathroom, and climate control. It’s on the quieter side of Mykonos, which felt relaxing and authentic. There are plenty of nice, reasonably priced restaurants a short drive away. We really enjoyed our stay and will come back at the end of our island hopping trip.

This was the worst place we stayed in Mykonos. Our basement room was dark, with a window facing a wall. It was big, but smelled strongly of mold and must. The scented candles and Febreze only made that worse. There were lots of large, fast spiders in the room, and the last two nights were terrifying for me because I have arachnophobia. We couldn’t catch them, and they hid in our shoes and luggage. One even came with us to the next hotel. It didn’t seem like the room had had a proper clean in years. Daily cleaning was poor and inconsistent. They barely cleaned the room, sink, or floors, and sometimes left us an uneven number of clean towels. Once they took away our full water bottles, leaving us without drinking water when we got back in the middle of the night. Breakfast was the one good thing, but there was no tea, and the kettle was always full of limescale. The hotel is in the middle of the island, which is useful if you’re driving, though getting everywhere can take 30 minutes in peak summer traffic. For the same price, you can stay at a sea-view hotel within walking distance of beaches.

We loved how easy it was to walk to coffee shops, cafes, and markets, and a beautiful beach was only a five-minute drive away, or a slightly longer walk. The staff were fantastic. My wife and I had a perfect stay at Eleni’s Village. Our room was roomy, comfortable, quiet, and stayed cool despite the summer heat outside. We’re definitely looking forward to returning.
