Seashell Suite by the Sea

We ended up spending 17 days here, and leaving was hard. We first booked 12, moved on to another part of Crete, then cut that stay short by five days so we could come back for the end of our holiday. My wife had wondered if the place could really look like its photos, but when we arrived she thought it was even better. The house feels carefully designed, down to the colours that suit the sand, blue-green sea and Cretan sky. The kitchen is fully stocked and has a lovely ocean view, and there’s a washing machine and everything else we needed for a longer visit. We also loved having the sea right there: private, roomy terraces for relaxing, with the option to jump in for a swim whenever we felt like it. A morning dip before breakfast on a hot summer day was hard to beat. It’s in a residential part of Kokkini Chani, with supermarkets and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Heraklion’s old town is about a ten-minute drive away. Dimitris, the owner, was thoughtful and very helpful. He made himself available without intruding on our privacy, and clearly cared about making the stay as good as possible. I’d give it six stars if I could.
